Listen to the original "Scratch" track of audio for the songs below and then to the final production (Master) version for a before/after comparison. All tracks were recorded, mixed and produced at Groove Tunes Studios. Several different genres are given. We may rotate some of these out from time to time.
IF WE'RE LUCKY by Dave Craver - Based solely on this crude scratch track, Dave Craver asked Eric Tunison of Groove Tunes Studio to write a chord progession and instrument arrangement reminiscent of Frank Sinatra.
PLAY ME SOME DRINKING MUSIC by Mike Staton - Mike came to Groove Tunes and recorded the acoustic guitar and lead vocal tracks for eight original songs. Mike asked Groove Tunes to arrange and produce final versions of all songs, using studio musicians. This is one of them off his album “Squid Lips Gumbo”.
BREAKING by Amber Leigh Wardell - Amber had recorded her song “Breaking” previously at another studio but was unsatisfied with the result. She asked Groove Tunes to redo her song as a larger production while maintaining a slight Country feel.
I KNOW WHAT YOUR GOAL IS by Madi Parks - Fifteen-year-old Madi was just getting her feet wet as a songwriter and the transformation from her scratch track to the final mix was dramatic!
AS LONG AS SHE NEEDS ME by Darrel McGhee - Darrel has been singing semi-professionally for years. For his first studio album he brought his own pianist accompanist. Groove Tunes provided the rest of the orchestration, adding synth strings and horns, using studio musicians.
HEART BEAT by Mike Pierro - Mike is a prolific songwriter and guitarist. He asked Groove Tunes to fill out his arrangements with drums, bass, B3 synth, and tenor sax. Mike is one of many examples of clients who had their first recording experience at Groove Tunes.
I BELIEVE by Peter Elizalde; Brittany Shewbridge (vocalist) - This song demonstrates how effective hiring a guest vocal artist such as Brittany can be, adding a wonderful fresh feeling to a song. Peter and session musicians provided the soundtrack.
OPEN THE DOOR by Victor Paul - Vic played scratch guitar and sang vocals on an album full of songs, then left the rest up to Groove Tunes to arrange and produce. He was blown away when he heard the review mixes!
AHA by Deborah Lanham - This song had an extremely tight deadline as Deborah needed a theme song for an upcoming women’s Christian conference. We tracked all the parts in one long session and mixed it the next day.
STYLISH PARTY by Dave Craver - Dave played acoustic guitar and vocals, and GTS produced the arrangement. There are some “Easter eggs” in the second verse -- see if you can find them!
WHERE’VE YOU BEEN by Mike Staton; Susan Shewbridge (vocalist) - Mike wanted this Country song to be a male/female duo, mainly featuring the female. The scratch track was recorded by Mike in a key suitable for his vocal, and from this track Susan figured out what key would best suit her vocal range, and we went with that.
GOOD OLE DAYS by Chris Kelly - Chris was brought up in the theater and has written poetry and sung all his life. This song he wrote for his grandma, so we were sure to make it sweet. The violin is the finishing touch we needed. Grandma loved it!
THESE DAYS ARE GONE by Paul Kopekin - Paul has been writing music since he was a teen. This one he made popular playing at local open mic nights. Groove Tunes brought in some other open mic talent to play on this one as well.
